“Porcelain along the Silk Road – Chinese Porcelain Culture Exhibition " (Croatia) Launches

At 7 o'clock, on the evening of October 11 ,“Porcelain along the Silk Road – Chinese Porcelain Culture Exhibition "(Croatia) was held.  This exhibition is the second stop of our 2019 international tour exhibition. It is also one of the framework projects of the "China and Croatia Culture and Tourism Year" of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. It has been highly valued and promoted by the cultural departments of the two countries.  Chinese Ambassador to Croatia Xu Erwen and Commercial Counsellor Liu Kai,Božidar Longin - the County prefect of Zadar County, Jagoda Surić - Deputy of Mayor of Zadar, Hrvoje Manenica - representative of the Ministry of Culture of Republic of Croatia, Director of zadar Ancient Glass Museum- Ivo Fadić, Director of Jingdezhen China ceramics museum- Zhao Gang, deputy director of the  Jingdezhen municipal Bureau of culture, radio, TV and Publication- Chen Yiqi, and more than 100 local guests, scholars, media and other people attended the event.

Ambassador Xu Erwen mentioned in her speech that zadar, like Jingdezhen, is a city that focuses on handicraft and is famous for its profound history and culture, rich cultural heritage and friendly and tolerant city character.  The ancient Silk Road is the ceramic road, china is the meaning of China and ceramics, porcelain is the symbol of China. At the time of the "China-Croatia Culture and Tourism Year", this exhibition will take this opportunity to promote the friendship between the two countries, adhering to the concept of "peaceful cooperation, openness and tolerance, mutual learning and mutual benefit and win-win", so that Croatian people can better understand the history of Jingdezhen, feel the charm of Jingdezhen ceramics, let Chinese culture go to the world, and tell the world a good Chinese story.


 

In the opening ceremony, Director Zhao Gang, on behalf of Jingdezhen China's ceramics museum, donated to the zadar Museum of Ancient Glass ceramic plates specially made for this activity.

In order to let more Croatian people know and visit this exhibition, and to have a more intuitive understanding of the profound history and exquisite skills of Chinese ceramics, especially Jingdezhen ceramics, Jingdezhen China ceramics museum has conducted communication and docking for more than half a year. The exhibition has not only produced exhibition brochures elaborately by both parties, but also, at the suggestion and request of our museum, the zadar Museum of Ancient Glass has installed a total of 7 giant outdoor posters in the central city of Zagreb and zadar to publicize this exhibition.
